John Tristram (1936 - 1985) was a British bodybuilder also known as John Trenton. He was born in Gloucester, England, where he was active in rowing and worked on a farm before taking up bodybuilding seriously when he moved to New York City. He later moved to California in the 1950s and taught French at UCLA. John posed for many photographers, especially Bob Mizer's AMG where he appeared regularly in Physique Pictorial throughout the late 1950s and early 1960s. He was featured on the March 1959 cover. He also starred in the AMG physique film titled "Pose Please." Many of his early pictures (by Lon and others) were released under the name of John Trenton.
